Crimson Revival

Crimson Revival
Restore forgotten Crimson weapons, refine them without destruction, and unlock powerful modifications.
Overview
Crimson Revival is custom progression content designed to return the classic Crimson weapon series to active use. Players follow the research of Rufus Crimsonhand, unlock the ability to recycle unwanted Crimson weapons, and obtain special materials used for safe refinement and Lapine modification.
After completing Rufus's introductory quest, players gain access to two connected systems:
- Exchange unwanted Crimson weapons for Crimson Refinement Orbs.
- Use those orbs to refine equipped Crimson weapons with no chance of breaking or downgrading them.
- Work with Refiner Lyra to obtain Crimson Modification Orbs.
- Apply three random-option lines to eligible Crimson weapons through the Lapine interface.
Important: Equipped Crimson weapons and Crimson weapons marked as Favorite are protected from the exchange systems. Store any other valuable Crimson weapons before exchanging, because eligible weapons may be consumed automatically.
Story
For years, Crimson weapons were prized for the strange energy sealed inside their scarlet metal. As newer equipment entered circulation, the once-famous series was gradually abandoned. Merchants treated the weapons as scrap, refiners stopped studying them, and adventurers forgot the potential hidden beneath their worn surfaces.
Rufus Crimsonhand refused to accept that fate. A specialist in old weapon construction, he discovered that discarded Crimson weapons still contained fragments of synchronized refinement energy. By dismantling several weapons at once, he learned to compress their remaining power into a stable refinement orb.
His research eventually attracted Lyra, a former magician whose first treasured weapon was a Crimson Staff. She left magical study to become a refiner and devoted herself to making the Crimson series competitive again. Rufus restores a weapon's physical foundation, while Lyra reshapes the magical properties sleeping inside it.
Together, their work begins the Crimson Revival.

Starting the Quest

Speak with Rufus Crimsonhand at:
- Map: morocc_in
- Coordinates: 37, 172
Rufus explains that Crimson weapons are not obsolete. Their remaining energy can be recovered, but he first needs someone to inspect the three surviving components of his restoration equipment.
Investigation Objectives
Visit all three locations around Morocc. Interact with each object to record its condition.
| Objective | Map | Coordinates | What to Photograph |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crimson Crucible | morocc | 280, 277 | A screenshot showing the character beside the Crimson Crucible and its dialogue. |
| Extraction Chamber | morocc | 272, 52 | A screenshot showing the Extraction Chamber's location and inspection message. |
| Refinement Anvil | morocc | 24, 23 | A screenshot showing the Refinement Anvil and the final inspection dialogue. |
Completing the Quest
After inspecting all three objects, return to Rufus while carrying at least one eligible Crimson weapon.
The demonstration weapon must be:
- Unequipped.
- Outside the Favorite tab.
- One of the supported Crimson weapons listed below.
Rufus only examines the weapon during the unlock quest; the demonstration weapon is not consumed. Completing the quest permanently unlocks Rufus's Crimson exchange and refinement services for that character. It also allows the character to speak with Refiner Lyra.

Rufus Crimsonhand
After the introductory quest, Rufus offers weapon recycling and safe Crimson refinement.
Crimson Weapon Exchange
Rufus extracts the remaining refinement energy from unwanted Crimson weapons and compresses it into a Crimson Refinement Orb.
| Give | Receive |
|---|---|
| 10 eligible Crimson weapons | 1 Crimson Refinement Orb (Item ID 92010) |
The exchange counts eligible Crimson weapons across the character's normal inventory. Equipped weapons and weapons marked as Favorite are ignored.
Warning: Store every Crimson weapon you want to preserve. Any eligible Crimson weapon that is neither equipped nor marked as Favorite may be selected and consumed by the exchange.

Crimson Refinement Orb
| Property | Information |
|---|---|
| Item | Crimson Refinement Orb |
| Item ID | 92010 |
| Use | One orb is consumed per refinement attempt. |
| Valid target | An equipped eligible Crimson weapon refined to +4 or higher. |
| Failure result | The weapon does not break and does not lose refinement levels. |
| Maximum supported refinement | +20 |

Refinement Success Rates
The success rate is based on the weapon's refinement level before the attempt.
| Current Refinement | Attempted Result | Success Rate | Failure Penalty |
|---|---|---|---|
| +4 to +6 | Up to +7 | 80% | None |
| +7 to +9 | Up to +10 | 70% | None |
| +10 to +11 | Up to +12 | 60% | None |
| +12 to +14 | Up to +15 | 50% | None |
| +15 to +19 | Up to +20 | 1% | None |
Refinement below +4 must be performed through another refiner. Rufus will not attempt to refine a weapon already at +20.
Refiner Lyra

Lyra is a former magician who became a professional refiner. Her first cherished weapon was a Crimson Staff, and she now works beside Rufus to restore the entire Crimson series.
Lyra will only offer her service after the character completes Rufus's Crimson Revival quest.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the unlock quest consume my demonstration weapon?
No. Rufus only checks that the character possesses an eligible unequipped and non-Favorite Crimson weapon.
Which weapons can be consumed during an exchange?
Any eligible Crimson weapon in the normal inventory may be consumed. Equipped and Favorite-tab weapons are excluded.
Can refinement fail?
Yes. Failure consumes the Crimson Refinement Orb, but the weapon does not break and its refinement level does not decrease.
Can Rufus refine a +0 weapon?
No. Rufus accepts Crimson weapons from +4 through +19. Use another refinement service to reach +4 first.
Can a modified weapon contain cards?
Yes. The Lapine target configuration permits weapons with cards.
Why does my Crimson weapon not appear in the Lapine window?
Confirm that the weapon is one of the 17 supported items and is inside the normal inventory. If no supported weapon appears, relog after applying the required client-side Lapine upgrade entry.
Does the modification reserve random-option line 1?
No. The current stable configuration uses consecutive random-option lines 1, 2, and 3. Sparse option placement caused server instability and is not used.
